Bear Hunting

Maine Black Bear have shown a steady increase in population since the 1970's. This elusive creature has lured many hunters into the woods of northern Maine and provides a great hunting opportunity for big game hunters. The northeastern region supports the highest bear kill densities in the state of Maine.

Bear are typically taken over baited stands or with hounds. Our hunts are done over active bait sites and provide the greatest opportunity for trophy bear. Each year 30 days before the season begins, we are allowed to set up our sites and begin baiting. When opening day arrives we have an understanding of where the bear are located and in most cases review them coming to our baits with game cameras. The key to successful bear hunting is stand placement, set-up, and proper baiting.
